The right bulb for a Moroccan pendant light depends on its socket, electrical rating, shade design, and the atmosphere you want to create.
Before buying a bulb, check the specifications of your chosen fixture. A bulb that physically fits is only one part of finding the right match.
Is the Bulb Included?
At Authentic Moroccan Crafts, our pendant lights include the bulb holder. The bulb itself is not included, allowing you to choose the brightness and light color that suit your home.
Check the individual product page for the socket type and electrical details before purchasing your bulb.
Check the Socket and Voltage
Our standard pendant light specifications list E26/E27 bulb holders. Confirm the exact socket supplied for your order, particularly when ordering for a different country.
Choose a bulb with the correct base and a voltage rating that matches your electrical supply. The socket name alone does not tell you the bulb’s operating voltage.
Also check the fixture’s maximum permitted wattage. Follow the bulb’s actual power consumption—not its incandescent-equivalent wattage—when checking this limit.
If any specification is unclear, contact us before buying your bulb.
What Light Color Should You Choose?
Color temperature is measured in Kelvin, shown as “K” on bulb packaging.
| Color temperature | Appearance to consider |
|---|---|
| 2700K | Warm light for a relaxed atmosphere |
| 3000K | Warm white for a slightly crisper appearance |
| 4000K | More neutral white for a less golden effect |
For a cozy dining room or bedroom, consider starting with a 2700K or 3000K bulb.
Colored glass can change the appearance of the light passing through it. Try one bulb in your chosen fixture before buying matching bulbs for an entire room.
How Bright Should the Bulb Be?
Compare lumens when choosing brightness. Watts describe electrical power consumption, so two bulbs with the same wattage may produce different amounts of light.
There is no single lumen value that suits every Moroccan pendant. Consider:
-
Whether the pendant provides decorative or task lighting.
-
The shade’s size, openings, and glass color.
-
The number of fixtures in the room.
-
Other lighting already available.
For a kitchen island used for food preparation, assess how well the whole lighting arrangement illuminates the work surface.
Clear or Frosted Bulb?
A clear bulb leaves the light source more visible, which may suit a decorative filament-style design. A frosted bulb diffuses light across its surface and may be more comfortable where the bulb is directly visible.
The final effect depends on the shade as well as the bulb. Ask for illuminated product photos if you are looking for a particular appearance.
Can You Use an LED Bulb?
An LED bulb can be an option when it meets the fixture’s requirements.
Check its base, voltage, actual wattage, and physical dimensions. Make sure it fits inside the shade and can be installed and replaced through the available opening.
For a fully enclosed fixture, choose an LED bulb specifically rated for enclosed use. Do not assume every LED bulb is suitable.
Will the Pendant Work With a Dimmer?
Dimming requires a compatible combination of fixture, dimmable bulb, and dimmer switch.
A replaceable bulb does not automatically make a pendant dimmable. Check compatibility before installation, and ask your electrician if you are unsure about your existing dimmer.
